Here is the link. Will experiment with it for a few days. As of now, it is hooked up with LoudTwitter

Plans to abandon

I am thinking of moving from livejournal, since:

1) I cannot use it with loudtwitter unless I pay
2) I cannot use a custom domain unless I pay
3) I dont mind paying (if it is not too much) but I am not impressed with their GUI, themes, and help. I think wordpress or typepad are way better.

Elegance Personified

Today, I saw two gladiators fight -- well they were no less. Five sets, each game faught to it's last inch, crowds bellowing in emotion. The cool of Federer and the pseudo-adolescent jest of Nadal were admirable and magnificent. Towards the end I could sense Federer loosing his cool and
giving in to the impeccable Nadal. Then the emotional award ceremony where Federer cried, "God, it's killing me", and backed off, it was just too much for him to handle. I think after this match, I have started firmly believing that Federer is truly "elegance personified".

Wall Street's response to President Obama

President Obama said, "Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America." On other side, during today's trading DJIA fell 4%!! Probably the traders thought, "He must be joking" ;-)

Millionaire

Slumdog Millionaire is a wonderful movie! Very nicely written and executed! I saw Mumbai, half torn, it is always.... half torn. On one side it has the riches, and on the other there are people like Jamal. I am very sure, there are thousands like him on whom there are no movies made. But, I think this movie is worth competing for an Oscar.

Clash of Cultures :)

Marquise

Marquise, si mon visage
A quelques traits un peu vieux,
Souvenez-vous qu'à mon âge
Vous ne vaudrez guère mieux.

Le temps aux plus belles choses
Se plaît à faire un affront
Et saura faner vos roses
Comme il a ridé mon front.

Le même cours des planètes
Règle nos jours et nos nuits :
On m'a vu ce que vous êtes ;
Vous serez ce que je suis.

Répond Marquise, cependant
J'ai vingt-six ans, mon vieux Corneille,
Et je t'emmerde en attendant !

Rab Ne Bana di Jodi is...

*I am writing this as I watch Rab Ne Bana di Jodi..*

-- Illogical. Most of the bollywood movies are illogical, this one is more so.
-- SRK is okay. As always, strictly _okay_.
-- Somehow, the Punjabi accent on SRK does not... maybe I am criticising him too much.
-- I am sorry, but the female lead is not stunning :( But, clearly looks more Punjabi than SRK. :)
-- The story feels completely made up. Well, I mean, it is made up, but to unrealistic proportions.

Frost - Nixon

The Frost - Nixon interviews are the most brilliant piece of television footage I've seen in many years!! More than Frost, who is obviously extremely commendable, I would commend Pres. Nixon. I think it takes amazing amount of gut to say what he did.

How Long? -- HOW LONG?

How long can we allow a city to be molested like this? I think the maximum city has been maxed out.

I get watery eyes while seeing the Rory Peck awards every year. And I have no clue why.

Liquidity

The CEO of Chrysler pleaded the congress for a bailout of the auto sector. I heard him saying, "There is absolutely no liquidity in the market.. ". I almost laughed out loud at this remark. Seen differently, this is actually a very serious comment. But what made me laugh is the following thought.

... We first bought things that we didn't understand, because a handsome salesman from an investment bank sold us a peace of paper and promising us money at the end. And now that he hasn't showed up and we are almost sure that he wont show up, can you give us $25 bn to patch up our mistake!

I am waiting for my copy of the Nabokov Lectures on Literature to arrive. There is still a lot to learn from the master!

Taken (2008) -- Lessons Learnt

1) Don't send your 17 year old daughter to Paris
2) Taxis in Paris are f**king expensive!
3) Generally, it is always a good idea to know someone named "Jean-Claude"
4) "I am not trying to beat the state, I am just trying to save my daughter" -- was sort of hilarious *lol*
5) Note: even if you work as a big boss in the French security ministry, a humble Parisian always carries a baguette when he/she comes home from office :-))

Jokes apart, the movie was average, and at times -- funny.

Parapluie

It was raining quite a lot, I was waiting for the light to turn green so that I can cross the road and take a metro to school. I didn't have an umbrella, and this annoying delay was making me even more wet. Suddenly I could smell burning tobacco and feel an umbrella sliding over me. "Il est petit" (It is small), she giggled and inhaled a puff, always trying to cover more of infeasible us. After a while I said, "Il pleut beacoup aujourd'hui" (Its raining a lot today). "Ouais", came the reply. The signal turned green we crossed the road. Finally, I smiled, "Merci beaucoup" (Thanks a lot), I just got a giggle and a puff in reply ;-)

Who am I?

I couldn't become an artist. But I like seeing paintings.
I couldn't become a writer. But I love appreciating literature.
I couldn't become a photographer. But I love appreciating good photographs.
I couldn't become a journalist. But I think investigative journalism is piece of art.
I couldn't become a playwright. But I love watching plays.
I couldn't become a biker. But I love Harleys, Ducatis, and Hondas
I couldn't become like Nabokov. Since I think there cannot be two of the same kind.

So, who am I? I have no clue.
